2025 Stewardship Intent Card
Please prayerfully complete an Intent Card and submit it on Intent Sunday, November 17 or by mailing it to the church or by completing the online card below.
Your Generosity Matters
Your participation in the life of Christ Lutheran Church is very important and special. By joining together with other members and friends, our congregation continues to share the Gospel here in Gettysburg and across the country and world.
Looking back over the past year it is awesome and humbling to consider all the ways our congregation shared the good news of Jesus. God’s love continually refreshes and renews sending us out to share that love and welcome with others. The ministry here is making a difference in people’s lives every single day.
Our Hands of Generosity stewardship campaign invites us to prayerfully consider how we all can faithfully support the Gospel ministry that God entrusts to us. This year our congregation has a goal of receiving fifty or more intent cards from members and friends of the congregation. A generous member has committed a challenge gift of $20,000 if we reach our goal! We hope that you will joyfully and prayerfully complete the enclosed intent card. As we begin this generosity journey together, please pray about how you can grow in generosity this year.
The enclosed Statement of Intent card will be received in worship on Sunday, November 17. If you won’t be in worship with us that day, please use the enclosed envelope to mail in your intent so we can include your generosity as we share our progress.
Thanks be to God for you and for all you do to bless this congregation and community. Thank you for considering how you can grow in generosity in the coming year.
Sincerely in Christ,
Stephen Herr, Pastor
Randy Wallett, Council President
Connie Pheiff, Stewardship Chair

Light of the World
Pastor Herr suggested that we put up some Christmas lights to remind us of Christ- the ‘light of the world.’ I put up some lights in front of our house. The other light that shines brightly in the night is the cupola of Christ Lutheran Gettyburg. The lighted Cupola serves as a reminder that Christ Lutheran is ready to help during this dark period with the events of the Covid-19 pandemic. Each of the lights on the bushes represents a member of our church. We want to shine in our community so that we can help us, as a congregation, continue to help others. Christ Lutheran members are here to serve, to help continue to share God’s love in our community.
As the church structure; the building and meeting places has been shuttered due to the viral issues; we must make sure that we ‘keep the lights on’ in our church. In other words, the church’s bills keep coming in, the salaries of our ministerial personnel must be paid, the electricity, gas, insurance, taxes and other items need to be paid. The services of our very able and dedicated administrative assistant must be paid, the custodian and the cantor. Each member of our church is a light, but when combined (like the lights on the bushes) serve to help us to serve our community.
Let us remember that our offerings serve to ‘light up’ the sky in downtown Gettysburg. Please remember to keep your offerings to the church current during this difficult time.
Keep the Lights On
I ask each and every member of Christ Lutheran Gettyburg to mail his or her offering to the church on a regular basis. Don’t forget, that we need to ‘keep the lights on’ in our historic church.
